August 16, 2010
8-2-2010 (324) amending the Code of Ordinances of the City of Altoona, Iowa, 2004, by amending chapter 69.13 no parking on north side of street, except along 4th Street NW from 17th Avenue NW to 14th Avenue
This is the second reading to allow parking on the north side of 4th Street NW from 17th Avenue NW, east to 14th Avenue NW.

8-2-2010 (323) amending the Code of Ordinances of the City of Altoona, Iowa,
2004, by amending chapter 69.08 no parking zones on the south side of 4th Street
NW from 17th Avenue NW to the east side of the 14th avenue NW intersection
The changes are to improve the parking adjacent to Village Park, which is located north of 4th Street NW and east of 17th Avenue NW. Parking is permitted on the north side of 4th Street NW from 17th Avenue NW, east to 14th Avenue NW.

7-6-2010 (322) amending the Code of Ordinances of the City of Altoona, Iowa, 2004, by adding chapter

6-7-2010 (320) amending the Code of Ordinances of the City of Altoona, Iowa, 2004, by
amending provisions pertaining to fat, oil and grease discharge by food service
establishments
The WRA is requiring all member communities to amend their Code of Ordinances for the
regulation of Fat, Oil and Grease Discharge by Food Establishments. The changes simplify
grease interceptor sizing, clarify the procedures for obtaining exceptions for economic hardship,
allow installation of 5,000 gallon interceptor tanks which are now available in the metropolitan
area and correct ambiguities in the ordinance previously passed by the WRA Board in December
2005.

June 7, 2010
5-17-2010 (321) amending the Code of Ordinances of the City of Altoona, Iowa, 2004, by
creating a stormwater utility ordinance
The purpose of the ordinance is to establish a stormwater utility to be responsible for stormwater
management within the City of Altoona. This ordinance does not set or establish rates for the
utility. A separate ordinance will be created (similar to how the water and sanitary sewer rates are
set), to set the stormwater utility rates. Staff and our consultant worked with a Resource Group
made up of local residents, businesses and a council member to establish the content of the
ordinance.

April 5, 2010
4-5-2010 (319) amendment to the Code of Ordinances of the City of Altoona, Iowa, 2004, by
amending Chapter 92

January 18, 2010
1-18-2010 (317) approve amending the Code of Ordinances of the City of Altoona, Iowa,
2004, by amending Chapter 92, section 02 (Water Rates)
This ordinance increases the water rate per 1000 gallons from $5.18 to $5.78 effective February
1, 2010. This increase was planned to cover the costs for the capitals projects.

1-18-2010 (318) approve amending the Code of Ordinance of the City of Altoona, Iowa,
2004, by amending chapter 98, section 10 (Sewer Rates)
This ordinance increases the sewer rate per 1000 gallons from $5.13 to $6.36 effective February
1, 2010. This increase was planned to cover the costs for capital projects.
