Altoona Fire and Police searching for flag burning suspect
The Altoona Fire and Police Departments are working together to identify the person or persons responsible for burning American flags at homes in separate incidents on November 13, 2023.
This is an active investigation, but at this point we can confirm that these flags were flown outside of private residences and the fires occurred sometime in the early morning hours between 4:30 a.m. and 5:30 a.m. in the 300 block of 12th Avenue SW and the 800 block of 12th Avenue NW in Altoona.
We ask anyone with information that would help with these fire investigations to contact the Altoona Fire Marshal at 515-967-2216. Information may also be submitted to the Fire Department using the online form available here.
