4th St SW closed effective April 1 - Water main work underway for 10th Ave SW
4th Street SW Closure
Beginning Monday, April 1, 2024, a portion of 4th Street SW, east of the intersection with 10th Ave SW, will be completely closed as crews work to access and replace water mains, storm sewer lines and structure, and water tie-ins in the area. Work to reconstruct the area and repave the road way is expected to take about 3 weeks. During the closure, traffic should detour to travel on 8th St SW as shown in the map below. As part of this work, a select group of area homes will not have water for several hours on Wednesday, April 3. These residents will be notified directly by the city or their property management about the closure.

While work is underway, traffic could be reduced to one lane at times and could experience delays in the project area. Crews will notify residents of water outages related to this project in advance. This page will be updated to reflect any long-term water emergencies or emergency outages related to this project.
While work is underway on this project, crews will stage equipment and materials as needed at the intersection of 10th Ave SW and 4th St SW. For resident's safety, please keep out of the construction staging area.
