Traffic Switch on 8th St SE begins Monday, April 8

Traffic will switch to travel to the new lanes of 8th St SE near Sam Wise Park beginning Monday, April 8, 2024. Traffic will continue to be maintained in one lane in each direction as work continues on the remaining lanes of 8th St SE. This work will begin weather permitting and the new traffic pattern will remain in effect for several months.

Closed intersections
As part of this traffic switch, access will be blocked onto 8th St SE at the intersection of Wren Drive. Residents of this neighborhood will need to use the south entrances/exits to access this neighborhood.

Falcon Drive will be closed both north and south of 8th Street SE while this work is underway. A detour will be in place for Falcon Drive south of 8th St SE to divert traffic to use either 7th Ave SE or NE 80th St.

Finally the north access to Centennial Place Apartments will be blocked to traffic. Residents and visitors are asked to use their west access on 7th Ave SE to enter/exit this property.

Remaining Access
A portion of the old road will be maintained to allow drivers to turn in and out of businesses during construction at Dairy Queen (736 8th St SE) and the Clover Ridge Apartments (858 8th St SE).
