Michelle Sloan appointed to Altoona City Council

Michelle Sloan was appointed to the Altoona City Council for the remainder of former council person Elizabeth Burns-Thompson's term at the Monday, July 17 meeting. Sloan is a former Altoona City Council member and she will remain in this appointed role until December when the term ends.

The vacancy for the next term will be filled through the upcoming November elections. Council person Sloan is not planning to run for election, and has resigned from the Planning and Zoning Board while she is appointed to the council.
